MONDAY 23RD MARCH 2ND UPDATE

As a result of the government  latest update the Club and Course is now closed. For clarification Golf is not classed as a permitted forof exercise and England Golf have confirmed that all Golf Clubs must now close.
We hope that all our members, staff and their families stay healthy and we look forward to meeting you all again when the Coronovirus has finally been defeated.

MONDAY 23RD MARCH – UPDATE

The Management of the Club have taken the decision to cancel or postpone all Club competitions. This decision was not taken lightly as we know how much our members enjoy competitive golf, but as a business we have to be responsible and as a Club we cannot countenance Club competitions when the Coronovirus is worsening on a daily basis. We would like to thank members and M &H for persevering with the safe distancing and precautionary measures we have already put in place, but we now feel it is right to take a step further and cancel all competitions.
The course and locker rooms will remain open for now unless the government makes further restrictions to limit the spread of the virus. However all golfers must adhere to the measures put in place to safeguard against this disease.
We will continue our cleaning regime and will keep members updated if the situation changes.
Thank you and take care.

CORONOVIRUS COVID 19

In accordance with the Government statement earlier today 20th March, the Clubhouse will be closed from tonight. Access will be available to the locker rooms and toilet areas but all access to the Clubhouse lounge bar and dining room will be locked.
Anyone using the locker rooms should ensure that they are following government guidelines with regard to social distancing.

The course will remain open, however anyone playing golf should protect themselves and others by following the precautions below;
Keep a 2m distance between yourself and your playing partner
Do not share golf equipment,or  scorecards and only handle your own golf ball
Do not remove the flagpole, hole cups have been placed upside down to enable golfers to reach the ball easily
All bunker rakes have been removed, please smooth bunkers by using your club or your feet
The flags in the putting green have been removed
The air hose has been disconnected
The golf ball washer has been disconnected
Please ensure that you thoroughly wash your hands after golf.

The locker rooms will only be open from 6am to 6pm each day during this time.

Exercise such as golf in the fresh air is good for your health and you are welcome to play our course.  However we ask that you consider others at this time and that you stay healthy whilst we all fight this virus.

CORONO VIRUS

We are sure that you have heard the lastest Government advise regarding the Coronovirus and we would like to assure you that Stafford Golf Centre is following Government and England Golf Guidelines to protect our members, staff and visitors to the Club.

Matt Hancock the Health Minister has commented that the risk of obtaining the virus through playing a sport is very small and we do believe that playing golf in the fresh air is beneficial for all.  We intend to continue to open to provide golf and clubhouse facilities until such a time as we are forced to close by Government guidelines but we are aware of the need to protect our customers to the best of our ability and as such we will introduce the following:-

  • The cleaning throughout the day of all surfaces such as door handles, vantiy areas, toilets , bar areas, tables etc
  • The continued supply of handwash or soap
  • Updated advise to members on a regular basis
  • Posters are placed in the locker rooms to remind all users of the importance of thorough hand washing.
  • We have cancelled social events such as the Quiz due to the large numbers of people who attend and will reschedule when the crisis is over.

Although we will apply these measures,  everyone should understand that they also have a duty of care to themselves and other people and undertake to self isolate if they feel unwell or come into contact with anyone suffering from the symptoms of Coronovirus. The notices throughout the clubhouse explain the need to protect yourselves and to limit the spread of the virus.

Due to concerns for staff and their families it may become necessary to limit the times in which the bar is open and we hope that you will understand the reasons behind this restriction. Marie will continue to provide catering for the members and will check on a daily basis for the members requirements.

We sincerely hope that all our members and staff remain healthy and we will update you all if the situation changes.

Thank you
